Palm Reading
This is a bit of fun rooted in hasta samudrika shastra, the centuries-old Indian tradition of palm reading — it's shared here as cultural heritage, not as science, medicine or fortune-telling. Nothing below predicts your health, relationships or future; think of it as a playful window into how your ancestors might have told stories about a hand like yours.
Look at the top line running under your fingers, closest to them — the Heart Line (Hriday Rekha). Where does it start, near the edge below your index finger?
Trace the uppermost of the long horizontal lines from your pinky-edge inward. Check whether it begins right below your index finger or below your middle finger.
Does your Heart Line curve upward toward your fingers, or run mostly straight across?
Follow the line from the pinky edge to where it ends — notice if it dips or curves up, or stays flat.
Find the middle horizontal line, the Head Line (Mastishk Rekha), usually starting between your thumb and index finger. Does it run long, most of the way across your palm, or stay short?
It usually begins near the Life Line, close to your thumb, and travels toward the outer edge of the hand.
Is your Head Line straight and level, or does it slope/curve downward toward the wrist?
A straight line stays roughly horizontal; a sloping one dips toward the base of the palm, toward the Mount of Moon.
Find the Life Line (Jeevan Rekha) — the line that arcs around the base of your thumb. Does it curve out widely into the palm, or hug close to the thumb?
It typically starts between the thumb and index finger and sweeps down toward the wrist, circling the thumb's mount.
Does your Life Line run long, reaching well down toward the wrist, or is it on the shorter side?
Follow it from its start near the index finger down toward the base of the palm.
Look for a vertical line running up the centre of your palm toward your middle finger — the Fate Line (Bhagya Rekha). Do you have a clear one?
Not everyone has an obvious Fate Line — that is completely normal and traditionally considered its own trait, not an absence of anything.
If you do have a Fate Line, where does it seem to begin — near the wrist, or higher up from the middle of the palm?
Only answer based on what you can actually see; if you're unsure, pick the last option.
