Guru Angad Dev Ji

ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ
The second Guru who standardised the Gurmukhi script and humble service

Guru Angad Dev Ji (1504–1552) was the second Sikh Guru, originally named Lehna. He was chosen by Guru Nanak over his own sons for his perfect obedience and selfless service. He standardised and promoted the Gurmukhi script so that Sikh teachings could be recorded and spread. He also continued the practice of langar (community kitchen) and introduced exercises for the youth of the community.
