Yajurveda
The Yajurveda is the third Veda and the practical handbook of Vedic ritual. Where the Rigveda has hymns and the Samaveda has melodies, the Yajurveda has instructions — the precise actions, postures, and prose formulas (yajus) for conducting fire sacrifices (yagnas). It exists in two versions: the Black Yajurveda (older, mixing prose and verse) and the White Yajurveda (more organised). The Brihadaranyaka Upanishad — which contains Tat Tvam Asi — comes from the White Yajurveda. The famous Rudri prayer to Shiva also comes from the Yajurveda.
Before any task today, pause and set a clear intention — what is this for? Who does it serve? The Yajurveda's insight is that intention (sankalpa) is what transforms ordinary action into sacred ritual.
