The Vedas are the oldest scriptures of Hinduism, composed between 1500β500 BCE. The four Vedas β Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, Atharvaveda β contain hymns, rituals, and philosophy. They are considered Shruti β 'that which is heard' β meaning eternally revealed rather than composed by humans.
