Guru Ram Das Ji
ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮ ਦਾਸ
The fourth Guru who founded Amritsar — the City of the Nectar of Immortality
Guru Ram Das Ji (1534–1581) was the fourth Sikh Guru, son-in-law of Guru Amar Das. He founded the city of Amritsar (originally called Ramdaspur) and began excavating the holy sarovar (tank) that would become the site of the Golden Temple. He composed the Lavan, the four-stanza hymn used in the Sikh wedding ceremony (Anand Karaj), making it a spiritual rather than merely social event.

A 60-second practice
Think of your most important commitment — to a person, a practice, or a principle. Renew it consciously right now, as the Lavan renews commitment with each circle.
