The spiritual capital of Sikhism — the Golden Temple open to all humanity
Amritsar ('Pool of the Nectar of Immortality') in Punjab is the holiest city in Sikhism. The Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) sits at its centre — a stunning golden structure in a sacred pool, surrounded by a marble walkway. Unlike many places of worship, its four doors face all four directions, symbolising its welcome to all people regardless of religion, caste, or background. The langar (community kitchen) serves free meals to over 100,000 people every day. The temple was rebuilt by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in marble and gold.

Eat one meal today with the consciousness that it is shared — cooked with love, open to all. Every meal can be a langar.
The Golden Temple conducts prayers from 3am; most beautiful at dawn.
