The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the eternal Guru of the Sikhs — a living scripture of 1,430 pages containing 5,894 shabads (hymns) by six Sikh Gurus, 15 Hindu saints including Kabir, Namdev, Ravidas, and one Muslim saint, Sheikh Farid. It is written in 22 languages and scripts. It is accorded the status of a living Guru — given a throne (palki), fanned, put to sleep at night, and awakened each morning. Its universal message transcends religion: it welcomes all seekers.
