Mahavira
महावीर
The 24th and last Tirthankara who revived Jain dharma in the current age
Mahavira (599–527 BCE) was born a prince in Vaishali (present-day Bihar) and renounced his kingdom at 30 to seek liberation. After 12 years of intense austerity and meditation, he attained omniscience (kevala jnana) and became the 24th Tirthankara of the current cosmic age. He taught the path of ahimsa, satya (truth), asteya (non-stealing), brahmacharya (celibacy), and aparigraha (non-possessiveness) — the five great vows. He attained nirvana at Pawapuri, Bihar, at age 72.

A 60-second practice
For one minute, speak no words. Just breathe. Mahavira spent years in total silence. One minute of genuine silence — no mental commentary — touches the quality he mastered.
Best at dawn — the hour of Mahavira's deepest meditations.
