Krishna

कृष्ण
The divine cowherd who teaches the Gita, dances with Radha, and plays the flute of liberation

Krishna is the eighth avatar of Vishnu and one of the most beloved deities in all of Hinduism. He is simultaneously the mischievous child stealing butter in Vrindavan, the young lover dancing with the gopis, the wise charioteer counselling Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, and the supreme cosmic being revealing the Bhagavad Gita. His teachings on duty, love, and devotion (bhakti) have shaped Indian philosophy for millennia. He is worshipped across traditions as the complete expression of divine love.

A 60-second practice

Do one small action today with full attention but no attachment to its result. Work as an offering. This is Krishna's core teaching from the Gita: act from love, not for reward.

Best at dusk — the hour of the evening lamp, Krishna's favourite.

Keep this offering free
MyBrahman is free and ad-free for everyone. If it has given you something, dāna keeps the lamp lit.
