Ganesha
गणेश
The remover of obstacles and lord of beginnings
Ganesha is the elephant-headed son of Shiva and Parvati, worshipped at the start of every ritual, journey, or endeavour across all Hindu traditions. He is Vighnaharta — remover of obstacles — and also Vighnakarta — placer of obstacles for the unworthy. His broken tusk serves as the pen with which he transcribed the Mahabharata. He rides a mouse, symbolising the mind that must be tamed. Ganesha is worshipped across Buddhism and Jainism as well, making him a truly pan-Dharmic deity.

A 60-second practice
Before any task today, pause for one breath and mentally offer it to Ganesha. Say 'Shri Ganeshaya Namah'. Feel the task begin with clear intention rather than anxious rush.
Best at dawn — invoke Ganesha before the day's activities begin.
